The Borough of North Arlington has made arrangements with a Income Tax Preparer to prepare Federal and State Income Tax Returns and Property Tax Rebate forms for qualified seniors at no charge, except for a small $10.00 e-file cost fee. IRS and the State of NJ now require all preparers to e-file tax returns. Residents 65 or older with earned income of less than $14,000 (does not include pensions, Social Security or retirement income), and less than $2,000. in investment income (bank interest and dividends). Renters or single family home ownership can qualify. Residents that are shut-in and cannot travel can make arrangements to have their returns prepared at their home. Appointments and questions regarding eligibility can be made by calling at 973 953-7547. Preparation will be at the North Arlington Senior Center on March 1, 6, 13, 28, and April 1. Residents are requested not to call Boro Hall regarding qualifications or appointments.
