The first day of school for North Arlington Public Schools for the 2014-2015 school year will be Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Elementary Schools: Four-hour-session days will be held on Sept. 3, 4 and 5. No lunches will be served. Students are in class from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Beginning September 8, regular hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunchtime is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Students may be assigned by their teachers to remedial class and/or homework labs which will be conducted from 3-3:30 p.m.
Children will not arrive at school earlier than five minutes prior to the bell. The exception to this is Jefferson School Grades K, 1 and 2 where parents have the option of dropping children off at the Hedden Terrace entrance at 8:20 a.m. and driving off. (This is designed to avoid traffic congestion at 8:30 a.m.)
The North Arlington Middle School: Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 will have four-hour sessions on September 3, 4 and 5. (Lunch will not be served on these half days.) Classes will be from 7:50 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.
Students should not report to school earlier than 10 minutes before the bell.
Beginning Sept. 8, the morning bell at the Middle School will ring at 7:50 a.m., and the dismissal bell at 2:20 p.m.
Students may be assigned by their teachers to extra help and/or study groups which will be conducted from 2:20-2:50 p.m.
High School: Students will report directly to their first period class at 7:45 a.m. where they will pick up their schedules for the year. Students will attend classes from 7:45 a.m. until dismissal at noon.
Starting Sept. 8 (first full day) – 7:40 a.m. first bell rings/end of day is 2:15 p.m.
Lunch will not be served on the first three days of school due to early dismissal. Lunches will be served beginning with a full day on Sept. 8. Read More
